Quartz surfacing is a blend of natural quartz and an adhesive resin. The two are combined to form solid sheets of material up to 3 centimeters thick (1 1/4") that, unlike granite, never needs sealing. The finished product is non-porous and more heat resistant than most materials (although caution should still be used when placing hot items on the surface). Seams are like somewhat visible due to the mechanical bonds between pieces. Any sink that can be placed in acrylic or granite can be placed in quartz.
