Acrylic solid surface is most often referred to as just solid surface. Acrylic is a product that is naturally waterproof, anti-bacterial, non-porous and somewhat fireproof. Acrylic solid surface countertops have inconspicuous seams that are bonded together with acrylic glue and almost disappear. There are also several varieties of undermount sinks that can be installed in an acrylic top.
